What Is Jacquard Fabric?

Update:03 Mar
When you hear the word jacquard fabric, you probably think of luxurious, intricate fabrics that make great curtains or a chic dress. These fabrics are often woven with silk, cotton, or synthetic fibers and come in a wide range of colors and patterns.Known for its colorful, allover raised patterns or floral designs, jacquard fabric has a rich history. It traces its roots to the early brocade weaves of the Byzantine empire and is still an essential wardrobe staple today.
What is Jacquard Weave?
In Jacquard weavers do not imprint the example, or “step” it on the texture, but instead lace it into the cloth. This creates a unique look that is not found in printed or stepped fabrics.Jacquard is available in a variety of materials including cotton, silk, and fleece. These textiles are durable and withstand strong wrinkles, stains, and dust.
They are also reversible, which is a big plus for those who want to make sure their garments are always in style. They can be machine washed at 30 degrees, but don’t use bleaching agents or wring them out after washing as this could negatively affect the fabric.
How to Care for Jacquard Fabric
The best way to care for your jacquard fabric is to wash it in the sink or in a laundry machine at temperatures of 30 deg. It is also a good idea to hang it to dry away from direct sunlight. If you do not have a dryer, you can lay it on a flat surface to air dry.
